A Note from the Pit Wall

For the Strategists, Not Just the Racers

Hi, I'm Alex Bakiyev, the creator of Toplantic Formula One tactic simulator.

Like many of you, I'm an F1 fanatic. I've spent countless Sundays glued to the screen, but my obsession isn't just with the wheel-to-wheel action. It's with the chess match unfolding on the pit wall. I'm the person yelling, "They've missed the pit window!" or "He's on the wrong compound for this stint!"

I looked for a game that would let me test those instincts. But every racing game wanted me to be the driver or manager. My grand strategies would crumble because I'd lock up into turn one or misjudge a braking point. The truth is, I'm a terrible racing driver. But I've always believed I'd be a great tactician.

This simulator is the tool I always wanted. It's built on a simple, powerful idea: what if you could focus only on the strategy? That's why this app is intentionally minimalist. There are no graphics to render, no physics engines to master, and no driving to distract you. It's a pure, text-based simulation designed to answer one question: can you out-think your rivals on race day?

In this world, your driver is a professional — think of them as a perfect, consistent AI. They will hit every apex. Your job is to give them the winning instructions. You decide:
- When to pit.
- Which tire compound to use.
- How aggressively to manage the pace and tires.

This isn't a game for racers; it's a competition for tacticians. It's for everyone who believes that races are won and lost not just on the track, but in the minds of the people making the calls.

Thank you for being here. I built this as a passion project, and I hope you enjoy the challenge. If you have feedback or just want to talk strategy, connect with me on Twitter.

Now, go win a championship from the pit wall.
